Visitors Center
Stop into the Columbia County Visitors Center for information on local attractions, or sit and relax on our front porch overlooking the historic Augusta Canal and Savannah River. Our center is located inside Savannah Rapids Park at the Lockkeeper’s Cottage. This building was built around 1890 and was once the home to the Lockkeeper, who operated the nearby locks.
Getting Here
Columbia County is located just two hours from Atlanta. The county is a neighbor to Augusta and the gateway to Fort Eisenhower Army Post, home to the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence. If you’re flying, you have two convenient airports to choose from: Augusta Regional Airport and Thomson-McDuffie Airport.
