Animal Lovers Family Experience

Take your animal lovers on a tour they will never forget at Peloquin’s Perch Llama Farm! You will have the opportunity to have an up-close encounter and in most cases, help train some of the show llamas. This tour is for children 6 and up. All participants must wear closed toed shoes. After your Llama tour, take a picnic lunch to Reed Creek Nature Park and Interpretive Center where you can look for wildlife in an active wetland area. Start with a stroll on the boardwalk over the wetland to view the many animals and plants of this ecosystem. Then, head over to the demonstration and pollination gardens. Finally, check out the Interpretive Center to see the ambassador animals on display. Local tip: Reed Creek Park offers several educational programs. Make sure to check their website for a listing of those programs.

Finally, come out and meet Oscar the Eclectus Parrot at Feathered Friends Forever. This nearly 10-acre site is the nation’s largest tropical parrot rescue and sanctuary and second largest in the world. Currently, they house over 1,350 birds with many of them being endangered species. Feathered Friends Forever is also listed on the National Registry for Certified Butterfly Gardens.
