If you’re looking for fun things to do in and around Columbia County this season, bring the family to one of the best fall fairs in Georgia as the Columbia County Fair kicks off its 10-day run. From Thursday, November 2 through Sunday, November 12, the Grovetown, Georgia attraction will celebrate 58 years of wholesome family fun with rides, entertainment, food, events, and spectacles ranging from acrobatic shows to chainsaw sculpting to a demolition derby and more. A few things to know before you go: Parking for the fair is free, and only diaper bags are permitted inside (no backpacks). Only service animals are allowed inside the fairgrounds.

Master Chainsaw Sculptor: If you’ve never thought of wielding a chainsaw as an art form, head to the fair to watch Masters of Chainsaw work their magic. Performances start on opening night and happen throughout the festival run. The art of sculpting with a chainsaw has become a worldwide phenomenon, and these daily performances give the whole family a chance to witness the spectacle in action and take plenty of photos to share with friends.

Ready Go Dog Show: This is a brand new addition to the fair lineup, and it’s a live-action show that wows audiences as canine athletes perform frisbee tricks, dives, and jumps! These pups will wag their way into your heart at 5:30, 7:00, and 9:30 PM Monday through Friday and 2:30, 5:30, 7:00, and 9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday..

Magicman TJ Hill- Magicman TJ Hill is a nationally acclaimed magician who has amazed some of the world’s biggest skeptics. Watch a signed playing card get lost into a deck, then immediately reappear inside of someone’s shoe! Witness five one-dollar bills instantly transform into five one-hundred-dollar bills! Magicman TJ Hill performs his magic nightly.

Sea Lion Splash- The sea lions will amaze the crowd as they balance balls, shoot hoops, dance, perform handstands, and show their pretty smiles. Sea Lion Splash performs at 6:30 and 8:30 Monday through Friday and 1:30, 5:00, and 9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.

Wardrobe of Wishes: Wardrobe of Wishes invites the young and young at heart to unlock the magic of their imaginations. Come out to meet princesses in far-off castles to lands far, far away, and all of the superheroes and quirky characters in between. Meet and greet opportunities daily.

Big Demolition Derby: On November 6 and November 10, the Demolition Derby rumbles (and crunches, grinds, and crashes) into the Columbia County Fair for two shows only. Check out 4-cylinders, minivans, mini pick-ups, mini SUVs, and more as the “mechanical warriors” collide in a mash-up that’s fun for the whole family.
