The Columbia County Visitors Center is proud to showcase the artwork of Angelika Bondar and Sharon Fausnight in a special exhibition running March 2 through April 3, 2026. Both artists draw inspiration from the natural beauty of Columbia County, creating pieces that capture familiar landscapes and scenic moments throughout the community.

Angelika Bondar
Angelika Selman-Bondar is a multimedia artist and longtime art educator who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Augusta University in 1982. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of mediums including ceramic sculpture, watercolor, printmaking, photography, and colored pencil drawing. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast, and she has received numerous awards for both her teaching and her art.
The watercolor paintings featured in this exhibit were created plein air, meaning they were painted outdoors on location. Several pieces capture scenes from Savannah Rapids Park and the Harlem area, reflecting the lighting and colors of the moment they were painted.

Sharon Fausnight
Sharon Fausnight has been a Columbia County resident for over 30 years and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Augusta State University in 2004. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, her paintings focus on landscapes and nature scenes inspired by the canal towpath and Savannah Rapids Park.
The works in this exhibit highlight nearly three decades of painting these locations, capturing different times of day and the changing light along the canal.
