What You Should Know About the Course
The August National is considered one of the top courses in the nation while also being one of the most difficult. Patrons have enjoyed this timeless event for over 80 years and while it’s a stellar and fun atmosphere, there are a few things to keep in mind. No cell phones or electronic devices are allowed. However, during the practice rounds, cameras are permitted so guests will be able to get some memorable photos of their favorite professionals. Purses and bags are limited to no larger than 10"W x 10"H x 12"D and only folding chairs without armrests are permitted. Other rules that are thoroughly enforced include, no running, loud talking or autograph seeking while on the course. However, there is a designated area near the practice area for autograph seekers.
Parking is ample and free. You read that right…FREE. Concessions are extremely reasonable with sandwiches ranging from $1.50-$3.00. Domestic beer is $4.00 and imported beer is $5.00.
Souvenirs can be purchased from the main merchandise buildings or around the course at the many souvenir stands. If you don’t want to tote your items around the course, you can check your bag at the check-stands or even have them ship your items home. Keep in mind that check-stands will fill up quickly so we recommend shopping early if you’re planning to purchase heavy items.
